How do you tell them, "no habla espanol"???!!!!!!!

I am taking a Spanish 101 class for extra credit at school, in fact I just took a test yesterday (we will definitely NOT talk about that). During all 4 of my years here at CSU, I have not struggled with something this hard since.... Trigonometry!!! Except this is a WHOLE other problem... In trig, I could actually understand what the teacher was saying... Well sometimes, I'd like to believe I could. But, I am sure in my Spanish class I have this "Clueless" sign branded into my forehead. And I don't know if it's because I look smart (HA!) or what, but my teacher likes to call on me, and have me read in Spanish or answer the questions... Let me tell you, there are a LOT of "ummm"s and English words in my sentences! I thought this class might be a good idea, you know to be able to communicate better in more than just two languages... But now I'm wondering WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!?? Sure it would help if I talked to my friends in Spanish, but there's one problem, I have to actually know SPANISH WORDS to speak it!!! Only God can help me now!!! Pray saints pray and while your praying, it's back to the books for me!!!

12 more months til the next WYR!!!

I can't believe how fast the Winter Youth Retreat passed!!! It went so fast! I thought I would get a chance to add some pictures before I came home, but the internet connection up there is really slow! So now that I'm home I'll do it!

So Saturday morning I was up at 5 because SOMEONE (I won't mention any names daryn) decided to see if I was up!! Lol and by the time I got outside, closer to 8, the guys had already been sledding for an HOUR!!! So we had breakfast and then had a regular morning session with Bro. Trevino (He talked about parents), and then had a split session with Sis Trevino teaching the girls and Bro. Trevino teaching the guys. I obviously didn't hear what he preached, but Sis Trevino taught on how special we are to God. VERY inspiring. Then after lunch we went out and played in the snow (went sledding, had snowball fights, played capture the flag)for about 3 hours!!! We had so much fun!! But that night's service was the highlight of the retreat. We started the service off with an AWESOME pre-service prayer and then by the time Bro Trevino finished preaching, we were all in the altar. We stayed in the altar for 2 hours maybe more. Just when we thought we would get up, the Holy Ghost fell again. It was just powerful. Every single person got a mighty touch of God!! I already am anticipating next year's!!!

Here are some pictures from the retreat. These are not all just a selected choice. If you want to see all you can visit my church website by using the link to the right. Just go to the youth section and you'll see more of a variety. :)

We're HERE!!!

Well... WE ARE HERE!!!! I'm so excited. When we got here there was almost a foot of snow on the ground and it is FRIGID!!! We ate dinner here and it had to be the best camp food I've ever had!!!

Bro Trevino preached tonight, I don't know the title but if I could rename it he preached on "The Spirit of Babylon". Which is thriving among our young people. The whole service from beginning to end was awesome!!! If I were able to get on my own computer (and if it weren't a few minutes til curfew) I would post some pictures from today, but I'll do that tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow's devotions and split sessions done by Bro and Sis Trevino. After the session we have free time, but I think they have some "snow activities" planned for us. Then we have another evening service. I will keep you updated on what's going on!!! Miss you all, but I'm having a blast, and hoping to see God do some AWESOME things at this retreat!!! And I'm still minutes early for curfew YAY!!!

How to break up...

So, Justin has a speech on Monday, and he decided he wanted to talk about “How to break up with your girlfriend/boyfriend” Here are some main pointers from the speech that I enjoyed (he’s so brilliant!!! Lol)

  • If you go on a date, to an expensive restaurant; guys forget your wallet, leave it at home or in the car. Girls order twice as much food. It doesn’t matter if you eat it or not.
  • Guys whenever she calls pick up the phone and every time answer with another girls name, “Is this Narcissa?” or “Hello, Flo?”. Get the picture?
  • Girls whenever you’re on the phone with him, fall asleep after a few minutes. To add to the effect, begin snoring loudly.
  • If anyone inquires if your still dating, respond with “We were dating???” or “Your what hurts???”
  • And if that doesn’t work, pack your bags and move to Taiwan, or change your number.

Rather inspiring isn’t it??? Give him a hand folks!!!!

Friends and Family

Love my friends!!! If you're not in here it is NOT because I don't love you! It's probably cuz I don't have a picture of you on my web album!!! Send me yours and I'll put it up!

Pre-Winter Retreat Comments

For those of you that don't know, I am part of an awesome church! Our young people do a LOT of things together, and for the first time in a long time, we will have a main part of our young people going to one event this weekend. Our young people are leaving tomorrow for our first Annual Winter Retreat up in the mountains. I don't actually know the real name of the retreat, I just know it's in the winter, and it's in the retreat ;). What is more exciting to this Californian, is the idea that we will be in the snow from Friday until Sunday morning! I am so excited!

I expect to have a lot of fun, and have an idea of what this place will look like. But, since I've never been there, I don't know exactly what it will be like. I look forward to the services with Bro. and Sis. Noe Trevino. I also look forward to the "snow activities" that are planned for Saturday. However, I am trying not to get my hopes up, as it may not be snowing all that much (even though they are calling for a Winter Storm Warning)... Ahhh it all sounds so nice! I can NOT wait. I'm so glad its tomorrow. We shall see how it goes!!! I'll keep you updated.

Cousins!!!

I know I know... I just started my blog and I'm a little overly excited about it... Bear with me here...

But one of the most important things in my life is my family. I love doing things with them, and just love being around them.

My cousins are too many to name, but I will talk about the ones who live closest and are also like brothers to me, Preston and Jarron.... They are both in school right now, and both also work, Aww I'm so proud! They were over here last night with their parents, Uncle Clayton, Aunt Jan, and Auntie Babe. We had a good time looking at pictures.

My brothers just came to visit for Christmas, they both go to school in Indianapolis, Indiana at Indiana Bible College... I'm so proud of them. Jason is in the IBC Choir and Justin is a guitarist in IBC Praise and Timeless Bluegrass Band. I plan on going to visit them for IBC Music Festival; Sarah, Jenn and I want to go. I'm so excited
(Do I sound like a proud sister??? If I don't BELIEVE ME I definitely am!!!)

I'm back already

Ok might as well start now! The main reason I'm posting this is because my friend, Sarah, asked if I was going to put them on here... OF COURSE I AM!!!

Sarah and Nicole just came down last weekend from up north. Those girls are like sisters to me. I can't help but brag on them!!! They are not only gorgeous and outgoing, but they have the most awesome personalities and are in love with Jesus. I already miss them so much... If you know any good, handsome, GODLY guys (other than my brothers lol) Let me know... for my sake as well as theirs!!

We'll see how long this lasts

Hello everyone!!!! Well I have finally done it! I decided to give in and become a blogger!!! We shall see how long I will last at keeping this up. Keep checking back for new posts!
